MindEdge Offers 4CShare Global Project Management Simulation
February 23, 2010
MindEdge's latest online project management simulation challenges learners to keep a global project on time and on budget while dealing with cultural and national differences.
The 4CShare Global Project Management Simulation is offered on MindEdge Online and through selected training partners.
In this self-paced simulation, learners take on the role of a project leader for an exciting new project—the development of a knowledge sharing database for a fictional company, Four Corners BioPharma, Inc. The project involves establishing processes for storing and sharing knowledge and developing the 4CShare software itself. Learners must balance input from team members based in Munich, Barcelona, Bangalore, and Shanghai and make a series of crucial decisions about project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
The 4CShare simulation addresses a number of issues: What are best practices for managing global projects? Which specific issues do Americans guiding a global project need to consider? Which communication difficulties arise because of differing schedules and time zones? How can a project leader help team members adapt to cultural differences? What tradeoffs are necessary in guiding the project to a successful conclusion?
Video commentary from David Lange, a global leadership strategist, trainer, and advisor, and from project management professionals with international experience helps clarify key issues. An adaptive scoreboard reflects the impact of a learner's choices on project success. Learners will find their knowledge of project management deepened and their understanding of the team leadership skills needed for global projects enhanced.
Learners who successfully complete the 4CShare simulation will earn 10 Professional Development Units (PDUs) accepted by the Project Management Institute. MindEdge is an authorized PMI Global Registered Education Provider.
